Experience lab
Dome Stage
Music, image and space in one living scene.
Dome Stage explores a composer website that feels less like a catalogue and more like entering the work: a fixed audience viewpoint inside a virtual theatre where an orchestral ensemble, stage lighting and streamed fulldome imagery share one visual world.
Conceived as part of the next markslater composer website experience; showcased here as work in progress.
The opportunity
Designed for Audiences, immersive-media makers, composers and creative technologists
A conventional portfolio page can describe immersive work but cannot communicate its sense of scale and spatial relationship. Dome Stage investigates how the browser itself can become part of that experience.
Working now
- ✓Fixed-view virtual theatre with a staged orchestral ensemble and balcony architecture
- ✓Still and streamed 2048×2048 video mapped through one fulldome fisheye shader
- ✓Stage and review lighting with image heading, exposure and ensemble placement controls
- ✓Public standalone work-in-progress demo
Next on the roadmap
- 01Replace provisional instrument models with purpose-built web assets
- 02Connect stage movement to real score and playback moments
- 03Develop it into the experiential layer of the composer website
Project in brief
“Dome Stage asks what a composer's website could feel like if you entered the music instead of browsing a catalogue.
It places an orchestral ensemble, theatrical light and moving fulldome imagery inside one interactive spatial scene.
The current work is an experimental UX laboratory for my future composer site. From a fixed audience viewpoint, this live demo lets you look around the theatre, change the lens, compare still and moving dome content, and inspect how an immersive portfolio experience is taking shape.”
